To document a disrupted Korean ferry, open KOMSA’s sailing-certificate search and match your booked date, time, route, direction and vessel to the operation record. Narrow the search before saving a PDF: the certificate type depends on the set of records returned, not just the one row you expected. A certificate is evidence of reported operation status; your ferry operator, hotel, insurer or administrator separately decides any refund, coverage or deadline.
Narrow the search to the sailing you booked
The current page lets you choose a region tab, date, time interval, route and ship. Its results show departure time, route, vessel, departure port, one-way/round-trip indicator, status, reason and a certificate-selection control. Compare all those fields with your booking. A route name or calendar date alone may also return a normal sailing that is not yours.
KOMSA’s rule for the searched records is specific: if all returned sailings are marked 통제 (operation restricted) or 비운 (not operating), the result is a 여객선결항확인서 (ferry cancellation certificate). If at least one returned sailing is 정상 (normal), the result is an 운항확인서 (operation certificate). A 비운 row alone does not prove a weather cancellation; it can reflect a scheduled non-operating period. Read the stated reason and match the actual sailing instead of translating every non-operating row into the same disruption.
For example, if a broad search returns your controlled departure and a later normal departure, the normal row can change the certificate kind. Refine the time, route or vessel selection and check the rows again. Do not claim a cancellation certificate for a particular booking when the returned record does not match it.
Save the document or ask about a missing record
The current UI displays 확인서 저장 (save certificate) and 이메일 전송 (send by email) for a PDF. KOMSA’s July 13, 2026 release described email functionality as still in development then; the current screen exposes an email option, but that alone does not prove delivery will succeed for every address. Check the saved file or received message and its sailing details before sending it to a third party.
If your sailing is missing or the date, direction or ship does not match, recheck the filters and the booking record with the ferry operator. Ask KOMSA about the record or an alternative issue route before treating an empty result as proof of normal operation. The release says visit, phone and fax routes remain available, and the current service page lists the Coastal Transport Innovation Office at 044-330-2294. Confirm how that route works from your location; the page does not promise English service hours or international dialing access.
KOMSA describes the certificate as useful when explaining a cancellation or delay to a hotel, insurer or administrator. Send the right sailing record with your booking reference and ask the recipient what its own rules require. Neither the certificate nor this search guarantees reimbursement or insurance coverage.
