If an employer cannot verify a Q-Net document issued more than 90 days ago, that failed lookup alone does not establish that the qualification expired. Q-Net’s 90-day rule limits certain online document lookups. First check which proof the employer has, its issue date and the number the matching official verifier requests. For an older document, ask whether the recipient can use Q-Net’s barcode-verification route or accept a fresh form of proof; if neither works, ask HRDK which official check fits the exact document.
Identify the proof before entering a number
For a CQ-Net confirmation, the confirmation verifier asks for the person’s name and the document-verification number printed at the top. Its online lookup is limited to 90 days from issue. A confirmation issued by www.q-net.or.kr must be verified on that issuing site’s route; the two sites are not interchangeable merely because both carry Q-Net branding. For an 일학습병행 confirmation issued after August 28, 2020, CQ-Net specifically directs you to choose DUAL in the selector; that is not a rule for every Q-Net document.
For a printed, board-style qualification certificate (상장형), Q-Net’s certificate instructions use the name and the management number at the top for the 90-day check. A booklet-style certificate (수첩형) uses a different set of fields: name, date of birth, qualification number, recent issue date and the inner number. That inner number is not a confirmation’s top verification number. Copying a number from the wrong object can produce a failed search even when the underlying qualification is real.
Q-Net also says a screenshot of a mobile-app-issued certificate is not a valid legal record. That statement is about that screenshot, not a claim that every QR-based document is invalid. Ask the recipient which official document form it will accept before sending a cropped image or personal numbers through an ordinary chat.
What changes after the lookup window?
For documents beyond these online windows, the instructions point to 위변조검증프로그램 (tamper-verification software) to read the document’s barcode. CQ-Net’s confirmation page specifically requires a 2D barcode scanner. That is a recipient-side hardware and software route, not a promise that a browser field will accept an older number. The Q-Net issuance guide also distinguishes an immediately printable board-style certificate from delivery of a booklet; a new print or mailed booklet is a different document state, not evidence that the qualification itself was only valid for 90 days.
If the employer lacks a scanner, ask it what current proof it accepts before attempting a new issuance or identity flow. If an essential field is missing, ask HRDK how that document can be checked; switching to another identity portal is not an established workaround for this reader.
When the recipient still cannot verify it
Give the employer the document type, issuing domain, issue date and exact field name to recheck against the original, while keeping personal numbers in an approved private channel. If the correct route still fails, ask HRDK for the verification method or a written inquiry route for that document. Q-Net’s instructions describe a consent-based written query requiring five fields and list 052-714-8642 for certificate inquiries; they do not promise English or overseas phone access.
A failed four-month-old lookup tells you to change the proof-checking route, not to declare the qualification gone. The employer or other recipient decides which acceptable proof and deadline apply to its own process.
