If your Q-Net certificate shows the wrong name, ask HRDK to correct the qualification record before ordering another copy. If the record is right but the photo is outdated, apply for a photo change and wait for approval before printing updated proof. A lost or damaged booklet follows reissue. Tell the recipient which problem you are fixing and ask what evidence it can accept before its deadline.
Match the wrong field to the underlying record
Q-Net’s issuance explanation says changes to a national technical qualification certificate’s name, identification number, subject or grade require a correction request to the Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK). A fresh copy of an unchanged record can reproduce the mismatch. Ask the responsible branch what identity and supporting evidence it needs for your exact field; do not assume an ordinary account-profile edit corrects the qualification record.
The same page lists a qualification-acquisition confirmation (자격취득사항 확인서) in Korean or English. If a deadline comes before correction, ask whether the recipient accepts it and check its displayed details. A confirmation can still contain the mismatch you are trying to fix.
Keep the photo request separate from document delivery
For a board-style certificate (상장형), Q-Net’s application guide allows one photo-change application per six months. Its stated approval period is 2–7 days excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. A request needing photo supplementation is automatically cancelled if not corrected within its seven-day window. Check the application status and any supplement request rather than treating a new upload as approval.
A board-style photo change and booklet postal-delivery request cannot run simultaneously. If HRDK lacks your verified photo, your identity is unconfirmed, or a qualification choice is required, the guide directs you to a branch before online issuance. Ask which evidence that branch accepts for your circumstances; this is not an established phone-verification bypass for every foreign applicant.
Preserve the change you need while choosing interim proof
During photo approval, the guide offers a free acquisition confirmation or cancellation of the change to print the certificate with the old photo. Printing before approval itself cancels the photo request. First ask what the recipient accepts, then decide whether cancelling is worth losing that pending change.
For a lost or damaged booklet, the reissue guide describes an eligible online request followed by postal delivery, with branch checks in specified identity/photo cases. If online authentication blocks you, ask HRDK which branch can handle the exact correction or reissue and what to bring before travelling. A replacement booklet, photo approval and record correction solve different problems; none promises immediate corrected proof.
