Sending a Parcel on the Pohang–Ulleung Ferry? Ask the Cargo Desk First

A passenger reservation is not acceptance of a parcel as freight. Daezer has a separate cargo-shipment guide for its Pohang–Ulleung service. Before bringing a box to the terminal, identify the item, the direction of travel and the actual sailing, then confirm whether the operator can accept it through its cargo process. A passenger check-in time does not establish the parcel handoff deadline.

Compare the item with the cargo rules

The guide has tariff categories for small parcels and for courier or perishable goods. That does not mean every box qualifies. It excludes vehicles and lists heavy cargo, flammable substances, high-pressure gas, batteries, corrosive materials and other dangerous cargo as unshippable. If your item or its battery content is unclear, describe it accurately to the cargo office before packing or paying. A private car needs another operator or transport plan; a passenger ticket on this service does not turn it into permitted freight.

Give the operator the contents, quantity, packed size and weight, and whether the parcel contains batteries or needs special handling. Ask which cargo class applies and what the current charge and payment route are. Do not infer the price from a passenger fare or treat a booking confirmation as a freight receipt. The published cargo categories do not establish whether your foreign card or phone number works for a separate cargo payment or contact process.

Confirm the handoff before choosing a sailing

Have the operator identify the cargo receiving location, the latest arrival time and any earlier loading-completion deadline for your direction and date. Also ask who can hand over and collect the parcel, which identification or receipt is required, and whether you need to travel with it. Those answers determine whether the shipment fits your trip. Leave time for inspection and processing; arriving at a passenger boarding deadline does not resolve a different cargo cutoff.

The official page publishes 1899-8114 as its general contact. Ask it to direct your exact cargo question to the responsible office before travel. If you cannot reach the cargo process, an item is excluded or the confirmed deadline cannot be met, keep possession and ask an appropriate carrier about a different shipment. Confirm that carrier’s item rules, identity requirements and payment route separately; another carrier is not automatically a solution to the same battery or payment restriction.

For accepted freight, keep the cargo reference and receiving instructions apart from any passenger reservation. If the sailing changes, ask what happens to the shipment and collection arrangement rather than assuming a passenger rebooking moved the parcel too. No sailing, cargo acceptance, payment or delivery was tested for this guide.
