Skipping Your Kampu Ferry Outbound? Check the Return Ticket First

If your Kampu Ferry ticket is one round-trip reservation governed by its English online fare terms, do not assume its return survives when you skip the outbound. The operator’s cancellation policy says the two legs cannot be cancelled separately. If you do not board the outward sailing, the return is automatically cancelled and cannot be boarded. Check this before buying a different outward crossing while relying on the old return.

Identify whether the two sailings are one booking

Open the actual reservation or issuer confirmation and record its reference, both travel dates, route, passenger name and status. Determine whether the outward and return sailings are two legs of one Kampu round-trip order or separate products. A screen that shows a return date does not establish that the leg will stay usable after the outbound is missed. If a travel seller issued the ticket, ask it which reservation and cancellation terms govern that order; do not transfer the policy from an unrelated carrier or fare.

If you can no longer take the outward sailing, contact the operator or issuing seller before the applicable cancellation deadline. Ask how to handle the paired order, what charge applies to both legs, and whether any return journey must be booked again. Keep the issuer’s answer with your original confirmation. Kampu’s fare page states that cancellation after settlement incurs a fee and that a round-trip cancellation fee applies to both outward and return legs. The amount depends on the applicable fare and cancellation period.

Secure a separately confirmed return

Compare any alternative outward journey with the cost and availability of a new, separately confirmed return. Ask the operator or seller to show the new return’s booking reference, date, departure port and conditions before relying on it. The old confirmation may still be visible in an email after the linked return has been cancelled; treat the issuer’s current booking status as the decision point.

If the online record is unclear or support has not replied, preserve the confirmation and the exact error, then ask the issuing channel to confirm whether the original return remains active. Do not describe it as protected, reinstated or refundable until the issuer confirms that state. This article addresses the published Kampu round-trip rule; it does not establish what another ferry, airline or separately sold return will do.
