Ask the booked temple to check the reservation before paying again. The Templestay FAQ says temples hold booking lists and some do not send confirmation letters. Contact your temple or support@templestay.com with the booking name, participation date and temple name. A missing email is not proof that the reservation failed.
Confirm the booking before changing it
Keep the exact program, selected date and payment record together. Ask for a booking check if you still want the original stay; do not inadvertently request cancellation. A card charge helps locate the transaction but does not establish the current reservation status.
For a date change, the FAQ asks you to check the temple's calendar first, then contact the temple or portal support. Ask whether it can change this booking, what happens to the payment, and when the new date is confirmed. An apparently open date and an agreed change are separate states. Keep the original booking until the temple explains what action is required.
Use the booked program's refund terms
Read the program page named in your confirmation, including its operating period and refund deadline. For example, the Myogaksa overnight program displays full refunds three days before, half two days before and none one day before or on the use date. It also says refunds are made in cash at the temple. These are that program's terms, not a portal-wide rule or evidence of available places.
Before cancelling, ask how the temple counts your deadline and how it can return your actual payment, especially if you will be overseas. A temple cancelling its programme and a guest choosing to cancel need separate explanations. Keep the dated request and reply; sending an inquiry does not establish cancellation or pause a deadline.
If a response has not arrived, use the temple contact on your selected program page and portal support to seek a status check. A backup stay may be useful, but its cost is not automatically covered by the original booking.
