After a missed UPS delivery in Korea, track the parcel and read the UPS InfoNotice before choosing a reroute, hold or pickup. UPS says the sender can restrict delivery changes, so a tracking number does not create a right to redirect the parcel. An Adult Signature Required parcel also cannot use the ordinary missed-delivery Access Point route. Use only the controls and instructions shown for that shipment.
Start with the notice and current tracking state
Open UPS tracking support with the parcel number, then compare the result with the paper or electronic InfoNotice. UPS’s InfoNotice guide says the selected items on the notice can show where the parcel is, whether another attempt is planned and whether a delivery requirement applies. Record the latest scan, attempted address, notice number and any named UPS location before travelling.
If the notice says the parcel was sent to a UPS Access Point, wait for the tracking record to identify the location and pickup state. Do not choose a nearby point from a map and assume the parcel is there. UPS does not publish one Korea-wide pickup-ID rule on these pages, so ask the named location what notice, tracking record and original identification it requires before making the trip.
A missing change button can be the actual restriction
UPS’s Change a Delivery page sends an account holder to the UPS My Choice dashboard and the parcel’s Change My Delivery control. If that control is absent, UPS says the shipper restricted the option. When it is available, check the displayed date, address or hold choices. The screen for the actual parcel controls; the list is not a promise that every choice will appear.
The missed-delivery Access Point path has a separate signature limit. UPS says it does not apply to an Adult Signature Required delivery, because an adult must sign at delivery. The InfoNotice can permit a signed release for a later attempt only when the parcel does not require a signature from an adult over 18. Do not sign the notice or send someone to an Access Point as a workaround when the tracking record keeps the adult-signature requirement.
Use the remaining route before the parcel returns to the sender
If the InfoNotice number offers an eligible hold request, submit it through the displayed UPS route and save the resulting status. The InfoNotice guide says UPS may make up to three attempts at its discretion on regular delivery days and returns an undeliverable parcel to the sender after the final attempt. That is a maximum described by UPS, not a guarantee of three attempts for this parcel. It also says a request to collect from a UPS Centre must be received by 7 p.m.; that request cutoff is not a counter-opening time or confirmation that the parcel is ready.
When the expected control is missing or the notice is unclear, contact UPS Korea support with the tracking and InfoNotice numbers. The page lists customer support at 1588-6886, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., plus KakaoTalk and email routes. These contacts can explain the shipment state, but they do not override a sender restriction, adult-signature condition or parcel-specific eligibility. The page does not promise English handling, acceptance of a particular foreign ID or a successful reroute.
If the missed item is a Korea Post registered letter rather than UPS, use the separate Korea Post missed-delivery guide. Its delivery-office rules do not apply to this UPS parcel.
