A PanStar cancellation certificate applies to the course, date and vessel printed on that PDF. Before using it as evidence, match those fields to your booking and read the operator notice that explains whether the affected sailing was cancelled, retimed or moved to another port.
Build the evidence chain in order
Start with the booking record. Write down its date, departure time, departure port, arrival port, direction and vessel. Then open the PanStar notice for that date and label the exact sailing as unchanged, cancelled, schedule-changed or route-and-schedule-changed. Finally, compare the certificate’s course, date and vessel with that same sailing.
Do not classify a whole travel day from the filename alone. A notice can contain several different states, while an attached certificate can describe only the original course that was cancelled.
September 21 shows why the course matters
PanStar’s historical September 19–21 notice changed the September 21 service from Izuhara to Hitakatsu and changed the return time. The attached September 21 English certificate names both directions of the original Izuhara course, the PanStar Tsushima Link vessel and September 21, 2026, with expected high waves and strong winds as the reason.
PanStar attaches the PDF as a cancellation certificate for that original Izuhara course. Read it together with the port-change notice. It does not say that the replacement Hitakatsu sailings in the notice were also cancelled.
September 22 shows a full-cancellation match
PanStar’s historical September 22 notice marks both Hitakatsu directions as cancelled and states that all sailings that day were cancelled. Its September 22 English certificate names both directions, the same vessel and September 22, 2026, with the weather reason. Here, the notice category and certificate course align with a full-day cancellation.
These dated examples are a reading method, not current sailing status. They do not establish whether a particular booking was affected, whether a refund is due or whether an insurer or another organization will accept the document.
Stop when the fields do not match
If the booking, notice and certificate disagree on the date, time, ports, direction or vessel, do not submit the PDF as though it proves the booked sailing. Ask PanStar which notice and document apply. The operator lists passenger inquiry at 1577-9996/9666 and sales inquiry at cruise1@panstar.kr.
Those contacts do not guarantee English service, a corrected certificate, a refund, a reply time or acceptance by a third party. Keep the booking record, notice URL and exact PDF together so the operator can identify the mismatch.
