SKT Name Transfer: Check What Moves and What Stays Behind

Do not sign an SKT name transfer until both people have listed every obligation attached to the service. A phone number, handset balance, commitment, insurance policy, subscription, fixed-line contract, leased router, payment method, and online account do not all follow the same rule.

For mobile service, split the transfer into four decisions

The July 2026 SKT mobile ownership-transfer contract separates the service commitment from the handset instalment agreement and other products. Read the current line record with both parties and write down four answers before either person signs.

  • Commitment and penalty: the form allows the commitment to be taken over and says the related penalty transfers with it under the selected terms. Confirm the exact remaining commitment and amount shown for this line.
  • Handset instalments: the recipient’s assumption of the remaining balance is a separate debt transfer under the same remaining conditions. The form makes it subject to the named creditor and credit-insurance eligibility; signing the service section does not by itself prove approval or release the former holder.
  • Device insurance: if the recipient wants to continue the listed insurance, the form limits that handoff to the date of the name transfer. Record the product and decision before that date passes.
  • T Universe: the subscription does not transfer automatically. The old holder’s subscription and charges continue unless that person separately changes or cancels them in T Universe.

Each person should keep the resulting service record and separately confirm outstanding bills, device payments, the next billing date, payment method, and subscription state. A phone bill carrying the new name does not prove that platform identity, login access, autopay, device debt, or every linked product moved. Check each linked app separately; the phone-number and app-verification guide explains those access layers.

For fixed service, confirm one location and one obligation bundle

The May 2026 SKT fixed-service transfer form covers internet, fixed telephone, and B tv on that SKT form. It permits the name change only when the receiving person’s installation location is the same.

The form says the former holder’s rights and obligations move to the recipient, along with the regular contract and leased equipment. It also has the recipient confirm that the leased equipment is in normal condition and places responsibility for problems arising after the request date on the recipient. Inspect the installed equipment, record serial numbers and condition, and identify missing or damaged items before signing.

Internet service tenure transfers only for a family name change under this form. Do not treat that statement as a rule for every relationship or every broadband company. This is an SKT-issued fixed-service document, not a KT, LG U+, or universal SK Broadband process.

Form fields do not settle foreign-customer eligibility

The forms contain nationality, passport, or foreign-registration fields, but the presence of a field does not prove that a particular foreign applicant, document, representative, or relationship will be accepted. It also does not establish a complete required-document list.

Before visiting or submitting anything, ask the current SKT contact or handling agent to confirm the transfer category, both parties’ attendance or authorization, accepted identity documents, relationship evidence if relevant, and whether any creditor or credit-insurance review applies. Keep the question tied to the existing line or fixed-service account; do not send passport or financial details through an unverified route.

Reconcile the result on both sides

The form footers list 114 for mobile service and 1599-0011 for fixed telephone service. Those listings do not establish English service, round-the-clock help, free access from every phone, or reachability from a visitor SIM. If the numbers do not work, use the verified contact attached to the existing contract or ask the handling location how to complete the pre-signing check.

After processing, the former holder and recipient should each verify the same list again: service owner, commitment, penalty, handset balance and creditor decision, insurance, T Universe, fixed-line equipment, regular contract, payment method, and current bills. Stop and ask for correction if the two records disagree. A submitted form is not proof that every linked obligation changed or that the former holder was released.
