Open the exact paid order before requesting a change or placing a replacement. IKEA Korea treats furniture delivery, parcel delivery, preparation, carrier handoff, cancellation, and refund as separate states. A support request or card entry alone does not prove the original order changed.
Retrieve the order before choosing a route
IKEA’s current order lookup, change, and cancellation guide directs signed-in customers to Purchase History. A guest can use the order-management page with the order number and the phone number or email address used for the purchase, or use the View Order link in the order-confirmation email.
Record the order number, fulfilment method, current status, delivery date and address, requested change, and any cancellation message. Keep the original confirmation and payment record. If lookup fails, use those records when asking support to identify the order; do not open another account or use another person’s credentials to imitate the buyer.
Match the request to the fulfilment state
- Furniture delivery date: IKEA says a permitted change can move the booking later, but not earlier. Availability still depends on the delivery stage and region.
- Furniture delivery address: the customer-support centre handles the request, and the address cannot be changed once product preparation has begun.
- Parcel order: changing or cancelling becomes difficult after preparation starts.
- Delivery schedule: IKEA’s current delivery page says schedule changes are limited to before carrier handoff. It also limits direct cancellation to the period from payment completion until before shipment; if the control is unavailable, the page points to support.
Ask which boundary the order has crossed and what action remains available. Do not turn a missing online button into proof that the order was cancelled, dispatched, or eligible for a free return.
Treat pending cancellation and refund as two checks
A request made after preparation begins can enter 취소 보류 — cancellation pending. Reopen the order and confirm whether cancellation ultimately completed. Once a cancellation is completed, IKEA says it cannot simply be withdrawn, so verify that result before buying the same items again.
The order guide says the payment authorization is cancelled within three days after a cancellation request and that the card refund can take up to about seven business days depending on the card issuer. The delivery page tells customers to contact 1670-4532 if a cancelled amount has not been refunded after seven business days and notes that payment-method timing differs. Save the cancellation date, final order state, amount, payment method, and card record as separate evidence.
Those clocks do not guarantee when a foreign-issued card will receive funds. Ask IKEA whether the cancellation was completed and what amount was released, then ask the card issuer to trace that specific refund if necessary.
Confirm the current cost before accepting a return route
The delivery page presents different parcel-return fee descriptions in different sections. Do not rely on one number as a universal charge. Ask for the current order-specific cancellation or return quote, including the fulfilment method, shipment state, item count, size or weight, collection method, and region.
The public pages do not guarantee English service, foreign-card acceptance, an address change, a fee waiver, or a refund arrival date. If the online control fails, keep the original order open and use IKEA’s current website help or 1670-4532 with the order facts. The order guide also gives chatbot prompts: 배송일 변경 for a delivery-date change and 주문취소 for cancellation. If your phone cannot make the call, start with that website route; a submitted chat request still needs an actual result. Before placing a replacement, confirm the original order’s final cancellation, any collection obligation, and the refund record.
