Do not assume you can reinstall a deleted Korea tourist eSIM with the old QR code. The LG U+ tourist eSIM FAQ says an activated profile cannot be reinstalled or reissued. The separate seller Korea eSIM / Prepia also restricts reuse and device transfer. If the profile is still installed, keep it while you troubleshoot. If it is gone or your phone has changed, identify the seller on your receipt and ask about that exact order.

Before you delete the profile
Keep the eSIM on the phone and write down the seller, plan name, order number, and Korean phone number if one was issued. Save the purchase email, but do not post or forward the QR code publicly. One useful pre-install check is simple: install the plan on the unlocked phone you intend to carry throughout the trip, after confirming that the seller lists that model as compatible.
If the profile is still visible but the connection has failed, take a screenshot of the error and check whether the eSIM line is turned on before contacting support. Apple likewise advises iPhone and iPad users not to erase an eSIM as a troubleshooting step unless their carrier directs them to do so. Apple also separates erasing a profile from cancelling cellular service; cancellation still goes through the carrier.
Deleted profile, failed connection, and new phone are different problems
| What happened | What it means | Best next action |
|---|---|---|
| The eSIM is still installed but data does not work | The profile may still be recoverable without deletion. | Keep the profile and contact the seller or carrier with the error and order details. |
| An activated LG U+ tourist eSIM was deleted | LG U+ says that profile cannot be reinstalled or reissued. | Ask LG U+ what purchase or replacement route applies to your order. Do not assume the old QR will work. |
| You moved to another phone | Transfer rules belong to the exact product. Korea eSIM says its eSIM is bound to the first device and requires a new eSIM for a new phone. | Check the original seller’s rule. Do not treat one seller’s policy as a rule for every Korean eSIM. |
The distinction matters because “eSIM” describes a technology, while reissue and transfer are product policies. A phone may support eSIM transfer in general and still be unable to move a prepaid travel profile whose provider made the QR code single-use.
Reach support without depending on the broken line
Use a hotel or airport internet connection you can already access to open the seller’s support page. If a Wi-Fi login asks for a code your broken line cannot receive, ask the accommodation or information desk for another access method. LG U+ offers website chat and lists lgrental@lguplus.co.kr on its customer service page. You can email from an inbox you can still access; no response time is promised. Its phone contact is 010-3998-1004, or +82-10-3998-1004 internationally. LG U+ says calls are charged except from U+ mobiles; check international charges with the calling carrier.
Contact the seller shown on your receipt. A reseller plan using a Korean network may have a different support and replacement process from a plan bought directly from that carrier. Send the order number, phone model, whether the profile is still installed, and the exact error. Never send a passport image or the full QR code unless you are using the provider’s verified channel and it specifically requests them.
Check the replacement number before paying
A replacement connection may leave bookings tied to your old number. The Korea eSIM transfer FAQ, published March 11, 2026 with terms stated as of February 2026, says its replacement purchase for a new phone comes with a new 010 number. Confirm the current terms for your order before paying. Ask whether any unused service carries over, which number the new plan will use, and whether the old number can still receive messages; do not assume any of those benefits.
A working Korean number does not necessarily provide Korean identity verification. The LG U+ FAQ excludes banking and government identity verification and does not give a reliable blanket promise of data-only app verification. Our Korea eSIM phone-number guide explains the separate voice, SMS and identity checks. If a booking used your old number, ask that booking service how to update the contact or retrieve the reservation without a code. Keep access to your purchase email and check your home carrier’s roaming charges before using your home line as a temporary connection.
For a concise support message, give the order number, exact plan and phone model; explain whether the profile was deleted, left on the old phone, or is still installed but failing. Ask what recovery option is available, what it will cost, and whether the phone number will change.
