A SOCAR web confirmation cannot unlock the car or complete its return. The current SOCAR use guide says the web can make, pay for, and cancel a round-trip reservation, while the app provides the smart key, vehicle location, trip changes, and return control.
Can the app open the booked trip before pickup?
Before leaving for the SOCAR zone, sign in to the usable app account tied to the reservation. Confirm that the correct trip appears and that its vehicle and smart-key controls can be reached. A booking email, payment record, or web page does not replace that app state.
This article starts after SOCAR has accepted the member and booking. The guide says signup uses phone identity verification and requires licence and payment registration, with use from age 21. It does not establish that a foreign passport, foreign licence, or foreign-issued card will be accepted. Resolve eligibility before treating this as a pickup guide.
Which controls stay in the app?
The web is limited to round-trip booking and cancellation. SOCAR places reservation changes, bringing the start forward, extensions, vehicle finding, the smart key, delivery and one-way products in the app.
At the zone, use the app’s vehicle-location functions and smart key to identify and unlock the correct car. Check the booking and vehicle state before driving. Do not use another person’s card, login, or identity, and do not treat an unregistered companion as a workaround for failed app access.
What counts as a completed return?
Return the car to the SOCAR zone named by the booking. Remove belongings, lock the car, and press Return (반납하기) in the app. Then confirm that the app shows the session ended. Parking, locking, or seeing a charge does not by itself prove return completion.
SOCAR’s current fare page separates pre-use rental and insurance charges from return-time distance charges, with Hi-Pass use added to the driving charge. Fees vary by vehicle, service, time, distance, and current app record. Do not infer a refund, zero charge, or final total merely because the vehicle is parked.
What if the app fails?
If the app is unusable before pickup, check the web cancellation control and the current cancellation time and charge before acting. If the trip cannot proceed, use a separately confirmed taxi or transit plan whose access and payment method work for you; a reservation receipt is not transportation by itself. A conventional counter rental has separate pickup and cardholder rules; check the Lotte companion-card guide before treating it as an alternative.
If the return state will not confirm, keep the vehicle safely in the booked return zone, remove belongings, and lock it if the authorized control allows. Record the booking, location, time, vehicle, and app error. If the app fails elsewhere during the trip, stop safely and seek instructions before assuming you can complete the return. Contact the official number currently listed by SOCAR, 1661-3315. If your phone cannot place the call, a companion with a working phone can help attempt it; that does not authorize them to drive. The page does not promise English service, particular hours, toll-free access, or an immediate return decision.
Do not abandon the car in another place or assume a phone call ended the session. Preserve the app state and support instruction until SOCAR confirms the recorded return and final settlement.
SOCAR’s current use and fare guides checked October 6, 2026 KST. Confirm the authorized app account, booked zone, smart-key access, return state, and final charges for the actual trip.
