Check every transport leg before buying a period ticket. Busan Transportation Corporation’s mobile products cover its metro network, but they do not make every connected Busan rail or bus trip part of the same fare product.
Does the itinerary leave the covered metro network?
The current Busan Metro fare page excludes city buses, the Donghae Line and the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail Transit from the mobile period ticket. A station connection on a route map does not prove that the period ticket pays for the next leg.
Write each day’s trip as separate legs and mark the operator for each one. If any leg uses an excluded service, budget and obtain that service’s accepted fare separately. Ask staff about the exact interchange if the operator is unclear; do not assume that walking through a connected station extends product validity.
Which Busan Metro product matches the trip?
The operator lists mobile one-day, three-day and one-month tickets. The one-day and three-day products allow unlimited rides within their respective validity periods. The one-month product is limited to 45 trips, so “month” does not mean unlimited use. Each traveler needs an individual fare product.
The one-day ticket runs from its first gate use to the end of that day, rather than for a rolling 24 hours; the three-day ticket runs for three days from its first gate use. Count covered metro rides and travel days, then compare the period product with ordinary metro fares. Keep excluded legs outside that comparison. If the record instead says Visit Busan Pass BIG3, use the separate attraction-count guide; that product is not a Busan Metro period ticket.
Can a foreign visitor start the mobile purchase route?
Busan Metro’s current mobile-ticket purchase guide lists a nonmember route for foreigners using an email address and verification code. That is an official entry path, not proof that a particular phone, app store, foreign card or payment attempt will work.
Before paying, confirm the displayed product name, validity start, remaining-use rule and final total. Do not buy several products in one account and assume they can be shared among travelers.
If the mobile route does not work
For a metro-only trip, the guide lists a QR single-journey ticket from a station ticket machine as a separate option. Confirm the station and destination before payment. That fallback does not cover a city bus, Donghae Line train or Busan–Gimhae LRT segment.
For a mixed itinerary, ask the operator of each excluded leg which current fare medium it accepts, or choose a route whose fares you can actually obtain. Keep the product receipt until the planned travel is complete; an app screen alone does not establish acceptance on another network.
