Camellia accepts up to six bicycles onboard per sailing on a first-come basis. A seventh or later bicycle is directed to checked baggage only when checked-baggage service is available for that sailing. Battery-equipped bicycles, including electric-assist bicycles, are refused.
Is the bicycle battery-equipped?
If yes, stop before arranging terminal transport. The current Camellia baggage page says bicycles with batteries are not accepted for safety reasons. It does not publish a removed-battery workaround, so do not assume that detaching the battery makes the bicycle eligible.
Ask Camellia about the exact bicycle and sailing before payment. A soft bag or ordinary bicycle packing does not override the battery rule or create permission.
Is an onboard bicycle place confirmed?
If the bicycle is not battery-equipped, ask whether it is within the first six onboard bicycles for that departure. The limit applies per sailing and is first-come. Passenger-ticket availability by itself does not confirm bicycle space.
Keep the operator’s response with the booking. Without confirmation, arriving early does not guarantee that the bicycle is inside the first six.
If onboard space is full, does that sailing check baggage?
Camellia directs the seventh and later bicycles to checked baggage, but the same page says some temporary services and Hakata night departures do not operate checked-baggage service. On one of those sailings, “check it instead” is not a usable fallback.
When checked carriage is available, attached bags must be removed and only the bicycle is accepted as the checked item. Ask for the applicable acceptance window and handoff point for the actual departure rather than applying an ordinary-service time to every sailing.
Resolve a failed branch before reaching the terminal
Use Camellia’s contact page to ask three questions: whether the bicycle type is eligible, whether an onboard position is available and whether checked-baggage service operates on that departure. Record the answer with the sailing date and direction.
If Camellia cannot accept the bicycle, choose another departure only after its bicycle route is confirmed, or arrange custody with a party that has agreed to receive it. The operator pages do not establish an airport locker, courier or rail service as a guaranteed substitute.
