GoHanpass HiKorea Verification Rejected Before Korea? Retry After Arrival

If GoHanpass rejects HiKorea two-factor name conversion while you are still outside Korea, do not treat that screen as proof the wallet can never be used. The provider’s specific help notice says this pre-arrival check may be rejected and directs the visitor to retry passport verification after visiting Korea. Save the exact error and the step where it appeared; the remedy depends on that state.

Which verification step failed?

Separate signing up with a passport from the later name-conversion check. If the rejected screen specifically names HiKorea or two-factor name conversion before arrival, follow the provider’s after-arrival re-verification instruction instead of repeatedly changing your identity details. Its notice mentions a planned bulk change of rejected cases to an unapproved state, but does not show that this work has finished for your account. Reopen your own account after arrival and check the status actually shown.

Additional verification is another step. The provider’s additional-verification guide directs users to My Tab → ID Management to submit a passport and selfie; completion follows approval. A passport signup, a submitted selfie and approved additional verification are not interchangeable. No published time to approval or successful outcome for a particular traveler follows from these instructions.

If the status still blocks you in Korea

Keep a record of the error text, the date, whether you were outside or inside Korea when it occurred, and the account step you were trying to complete. Use the provider’s inquiry form to ask which verification state applies and what it accepts next. Describe the problem without sending a passport image, one-time code or PIN in an ordinary inquiry; submit identity material only through the provider’s designated secure ID Management route when instructed. An inquiry is not an approval or an account reset.

If a purchase is time-sensitive while the wallet remains unavailable, ask that seller about its own direct payment or staffed-counter options and check what it actually accepts. A Korean phone number alone does not resolve every app’s identity requirement; the phone-number verification guide explains that broader distinction. Do not base a reservation on an unapproved wallet or assume every counter accepts a foreign card or cash.
