A Gwaneumsa campground application is not enough by itself. Confirm that payment or the reservation system’s designated completion step is finished, make sure the named guest can arrive between 13:00 and 18:00, and check current notices before traveling. Personal cancellation, no-show, and an official weather closure follow different branches.
Is the reservation actually confirmed?
The official Gwaneumsa campground guide says advance reservations are online only; telephone and on-site reservations are unavailable. The site’s terms define confirmation as completed payment, when payment applies, or completion of the system’s designated confirmation process. A submitted form or a card attempt is therefore not proof by itself.
Use the site’s 마이페이지 (My Page) and 나의 예약내역 (My Reservations) labels to open the record, then check the date, deck, named applicant, payment or completion state, and any confirmation identifier. The terms also name 예약 확인/마이페이지 (Reservation Check/My Page) as the route for confirmation and whether a change is available. The applicant may not sell, exchange, or transfer the reservation to another person, so a companion cannot assume that showing the purchaser’s screenshot will make the booking transferable.
The terms refer to both members and nonmembers, but they do not establish universal foreign-user eligibility, accepted foreign identity documents, overseas-phone access, or foreign-card acceptance. If an account or payment step blocks you, use only a route the official system confirms; there is no published phone or walk-in booking bypass. The guide lists 064-756-9950 for inquiries, but that is not a telephone-booking route and does not guarantee overseas reachability, a particular language, published support hours, or an outcome.
Can the named guest arrive during check-in?
The published arrival window is 13:00–18:00. Arrival after 18:00 is treated as a no-show, and checkout is by 11:00 the next day. Keep the confirmation and the identity or payment record required by the actual reservation process accessible at arrival.
Do not assume that calling after 18:00 preserves the deck or changes the no-show treatment. If you already know that the named guest cannot arrive on time, compare the cancellation timing before the arrival day rather than waiting for the reservation to become a no-show.
If the booking cannot be used, choose another accommodation only after its check-in, payment, and guest-identification requirements are confirmed. A nearby property or available-looking campsite is not an automatic substitute.
Personal cancellation and weather closure are different
For a cancellation attributed to the reservation holder, the guide publishes these deductions from the reservation payment:
- Cancel on the payment day or at least three days before use: full return.
- Cancel two days before use: 10% deducted.
- Cancel one day before use: 20% deducted.
- Cancel on the use date, or do not use the booking: 30% deducted.
The guide has a separate operator-responsibility row for weather that makes the facility unusable, including typhoon, heavy rain, or heavy snow. That row states a full return when notice is given by five days before the use date. It does not explain the refund result for every later closure, so keep the official notice and ask which published rule applies rather than extending the five-day row.
The campground may also close temporarily for weather alerts, national events, repairs, forest protection, or other special management. A reservation confirmation does not override a closure instruction.
Campground confirmation does not settle the hiking plan
A campground booking confirms only the campsite state shown by that reservation system. It does not prove that a Hallasan trail is operating, that summit access is available, or that a separate trail reservation or condition has been satisfied.
Before departure, recheck the campground reservation and current campground notices, then check the trail reservation and current operation separately if hiking is part of the trip. If the campground is closed or the booking is no longer usable, follow the official cancellation or inquiry route and retain the confirmation, notice, and refund record.
Gwaneumsa campground’s official guide and terms were checked October 6, 2026 KST; the terms state an effective date of July 1, 2026. Recheck the reservation state, arrival window, notices, and refund rule for the actual stay date.
