After landing at Incheon Terminal 2, do not follow a shuttle sign merely because your next flight is international. The onward flight could depart from T2, Terminal 1, or the Concourse. Korean Air’s international-transfer guide gives different paths for a same-terminal connection and for a transfer toward T1 or the Concourse. The decision is the current onward terminal and gate, followed by the transfer route that matches it.
Identify the onward flight before changing areas
Use the operating airline’s flight number, departure date and airport code ICN to check the current terminal and gate. Incheon Airport warns that codeshares and airline operations can change the actual terminal, so an airline name alone is not enough. Compare the airline’s latest boarding information with airport displays; a gate absent from an early boarding pass is a prompt to check again, not evidence that the entire connection uses the arrival terminal. If the terminal and gate disagree between records, ask the airline’s transfer desk before taking the shuttle or crossing a transfer gate.
On Incheon Airport’s Passenger Departure Timetable, set the onward departure date and time window before searching. In a desktop website check on October 4, 2026 at 23:36 KST, the page opened on “today” with a 23:00–23:59 window. We changed it to Monday, October 5, 00:00–23:59, kept All Terminal, and searched TOKYO/NARITA. The results included both T1 and T2 flights: the destination alone did not identify the terminal.
Entering KE703 then returned one row for that selected date: a 10:10 Korean Airlines departure to Narita, listed at T2, Gate 275, with check-in counters A–D. Opening the row repeated Gate 275. Those counters are check-in information, not an airside transfer route. Its destination weather was dated October 4, not the October 5 flight date. Treat the flight result as a dated example and confirm your own flight’s terminal and gate again with the airline and airport displays before taking the one-way shuttle.
Keep your onward boarding pass or e-ticket confirmation ready. Korean Air requires one for the T2-to-T1/Concourse transfer gate and shuttle. If you have neither, or the document does not match the expected flight, ask the operating airline before committing to a route. Incheon Airport’s T2-to-T1 guide says boarding-pass issuance depends on the airline and points travelers to a transfer desk. An e-ticket is not itself an onward boarding pass.
Follow the branch that matches the gate
For a T2 departure, follow Transfer signs through the transfer-security route and locate the T2 departure gate. Korean Air’s guide directs travelers without an onward boarding pass to the T2 transfer desk on the transfer level. Ask staff to confirm the gate and remaining time before waiting in the wrong part of the building.
For T1 or the Concourse, the first airside train from T2 reaches the Concourse. The next branch matters:
- Concourse departure: follow the Concourse transfer gate toward transfer security and its departure gates.
- T1 departure: continue through the T1 transfer gate and take the second airside train to T1, then follow transfer security and the departure gate.
The airport warns that, once you board the shuttle, you cannot simply return on it. If the destination is still uncertain, ask before entering the train route. Do not substitute the public inter-terminal bus or airport railroad for this airside connection without airline direction.
At any branch, update the gate from a live airline or airport source after you arrive in the onward area. A saved map or old screenshot describes a layout; it cannot confirm a gate for today’s flight. If the airline changes the terminal or you cannot reach the gate, contact its transfer staff immediately with both flight numbers and your location. Ask what route or flight option applies; neither the map nor this guide guarantees the connection time.
This is an international-to-international connection at ICN. If the next ticket instead departs from Gimpo (GMP), the ICN-to-GMP airport-change guide covers the separate ground journey and baggage recheck.
