Korea Controlled-Medicine Permit: Correct a Submitted Application

If you have submitted an MFDS application to bring controlled medicine for self-treatment, do not assume you can reopen it and replace a file. The official English portal FAQ says submitted applications cannot be modified or given new uploads. Check the case status and the exact problem, then ask the assigned case manager whether supplementary documents can address it. A changed application may require a voluntary withdrawal, staff approval and resubmission as a new application; requesting withdrawal does not complete it.

Find out which state your application is in

On the permit page, open FAQ and select English to read the current instructions. The service is labelled Permit To Bring In Narcotics For Self-treatment. The portal uses email verification to access applications; it does not require a separate permit-site account. Use the same verified email route to find the application and read its status and any message from the case manager. Keep the application reference, the files you originally supplied and the correction you need in front of you before contacting staff.

What you seeWhat it means for your next action
Form not yet submittedPrepare the required documents as PDFs before saving or submitting, and correct the form while it remains editable.
Submitted or In ProgressDo not expect an edit button or new file upload. Ask the case manager whether the issue belongs in a supplementary request or needs the withdrawal route.
Supplementary request openRead the notice and deadline, prepare the requested PDFs, and verify them before selecting Submit Supplementary. Files cannot be changed after that submission.
Withdrawal requestedWait for staff review and approval. Only then use Resubmission to retrieve the earlier content into a new application.

The table is a route check, not a judgment that a medicine or document will be accepted. The case manager’s notice for your application controls what evidence to send.

If documents are missing, ask about supplementation first

The FAQ says a case manager may consider supplementary documents for missing material. That is a staff-controlled route, not permission to upload a replacement whenever you like. Tell the manager which document was omitted or is wrong, and ask whether a supplementary request can address it. Do not start a withdrawal merely because a file is missing before you know which route staff will use.

When a supplementary request is available, read the requested items and deadline before uploading. The portal accepts documents as PDFs. Check that each file is the intended version before Submit Supplementary, because you cannot edit those files after submitting them. The FAQ says a supplementary deadline cannot be extended. If the first deadline has already passed, ask the case manager whether a second supplementary stage is possible; do not assume that it will open automatically. If you missed both deadlines and both supplementary requests have already been processed, the FAQ directs you to a new application rather than another edit to the old one.

If the application itself must change, follow the withdrawal sequence

For a submitted application marked In Progress that needs a change beyond the available supplement route, the FAQ describes Voluntary Withdrawal. Enter the reason, attach any necessary supporting documents and save the request. Staff then review it. Once withdrawal is approved, Resubmission retrieves the earlier content for a new application; review every field and file before submitting that new record. A saved request, a staff-approved withdrawal and a new submission are three different states.

Ask the case manager which path fits your particular correction before initiating withdrawal, especially if a supplementary notice is already open. Keep the portal’s confirmation for each step. Do not treat an email sent to staff, a withdrawal request or a saved new form as an issued permit.

This guide addresses post-submission correction, not whether a medicine qualifies, what dose is allowed, or whether entry will be approved. A corrected application is also separate from an arrival declaration: the Korea customs guide explains that distinction.
