Check four sources separately: the official forecast, AirKorea, government safety alerts and the organizer’s event-status notice. Bad weather does not automatically mean cancellation, and a ticket page that remains online does not prove the show is operating unchanged.
A three-stage check works better than one screenshot
| When | What to check | Decision to make |
|---|---|---|
| 72 hours before | Forecast trend, venue type, organizer weather policy and travel flexibility. | Whether to keep refundable travel and prepare allowed rain or heat items. |
| 24 hours before | Updated forecast, AirKorea, safety alerts and the latest organizer post. | What route, clothing and backup plan are realistic. |
| 3 hours before | Nowcast, warning, air reading, gate notice and transport changes. | Whether to depart, delay, change route or follow an official cancellation instruction. |
| At the venue | Staff announcements and displayed safety instructions. | Where to queue, shelter, evacuate or collect updated information. |
Weather and event status are different questions
Use the Korea Meteorological Administration for official forecasts and warnings. Then open the organizer’s exact notice. Only the organizer or responsible authority can tell you whether doors, performance time, standing zones or refunds have changed. Do not infer a refund from a rain icon.
Air quality needs its own source
AirKorea reports national air-quality information and explains its Comprehensive Air-quality Index. Its most current readings can be preliminary, so use the official category and time stamp rather than copying a number without context. People with medical concerns should follow their clinician’s advice; this page does not set a personal exposure threshold.
Government alerts may be broader than the venue
SAFE KOREA publishes regional emergency alerts. Its English page warns that machine translations may contain errors. Match the issuing city and time to the venue, keep the Korean alert available, and follow instructions from authorities. A heat or heavy-rain warning is a safety signal even if the event has not yet posted an update.
Prepare only items the event permits
- compact rain protection if allowed;
- water in the permitted container and size;
- sun protection that fits the bag policy;
- layers appropriate for the forecast and a long outdoor wait;
- a dry sleeve for the phone and ticket;
- a charged battery and offline route;
- medicine you normally carry, stored and documented as required.
Never interpret this list as permission to bring an umbrella, bottle, aerosol or large bag. Use the exact-event bag-rule guide before packing.
Know who can make which decision
| Source | It can tell you | It does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| KMA | Forecasts, warnings and observed weather. | That a concert is canceled or refundable. |
| AirKorea | Official air-quality category and data time. | What is medically safe for one person. |
| SAFE KOREA | Regional emergency instructions. | The event’s commercial refund process. |
| Organizer | Doors, delay, cancellation and event refund path. | Government safety instructions. |
If conditions change while you are traveling
Do not shelter under temporary structures unless staff directs you there. Follow venue and authority instructions, keep companions informed, and move using the official transport update. If urgent help is needed, use the contacts in our Korea emergency apps and numbers guide. For normal seasonal preparation, see the Korea packing list by season.
Use thresholds from the event, not from another traveler
Weather and air-quality readings help you prepare, but only the organizer can state whether the performance is delayed, shortened, moved or cancelled. Do not invent a cancellation threshold from a forecast value or an earlier festival. Check the official event channel at the time named in its notice, and preserve your ticket and travel refund terms until a decision is posted.
If heat, respiratory illness or limited mobility makes the published conditions unsafe for you, create a personal no-go threshold with appropriate professional advice. That decision can be more conservative than the organizer’s operational decision. Identify shade, water and medical points only from the current site map, and never assume an item such as a large umbrella or outside drink is permitted without checking the event rule.
Sources and scope
The August 7, 2026 verification record for Outdoor Concerts in Korea: Rain, Heat, Air Quality and Cancellation Checks uses the official pages below for distinct decisions; none of these links should be stretched beyond the scope stated beside it.
- Korea Meteorological Administration: Official weather forecasts and warnings.
- AirKorea: Official national air-quality data and index information.
- SAFE KOREA emergency alerts: Government emergency alerts; English translations may contain errors.
- BeforeKorea emergency guide: Guide to official emergency sources and next steps.
Forecasts and alerts are not presented as cancellation or refund decisions.
Pair the event’s permitted-items notice with the Korea packing list by season, then remove anything the organizer does not allow even if the forecast suggests it.

Keep four authorities in separate columns
Korea Meteorological Administration describes weather; AirKorea describes measured and forecast air quality; SAFE KOREA publishes public emergency messages; and the event organizer or designated seller controls event-specific delay, suspension, cancellation, entry and refund instructions. One column cannot issue another column’s decision.
| Question | Primary surface | What it cannot decide |
|---|---|---|
| Rain, heat, wind, lightning | KMA exact place and hour | Ticket refund or cancellation |
| PM2.5 and PM10 | AirKorea station and forecast | Individual medical safety |
| Government emergency message | SAFE KOREA current alert | Exact event admission |
| Delay, cancellation, refund | Organizer and designated seller | Personal health tolerance |
| What may enter the venue | Exact event bag and entry notice | Whether conditions will improve |
Open KMA Weather Nuri, AirKorea and SAFE KOREA emergency alerts for the exact place and current time. Then return to the exact event notice. The Sound Planet Festival 2026 Ticketlink notice is a current designated-seller entry point for one outdoor festival; it does not set a universal rain or cancellation rule for other events.
Use a three-stage log instead of one screenshot
Record venue and event status 48 hours before travel, before leaving lodging, and immediately before entry. Save observation time, exact place, source, condition and the action actually published. Pack only permitted items. If symptoms, lightning, flooding, strong wind or an emergency warning makes continued travel unsafe, move to a staffed safe place and follow public instructions rather than waiting for a ticket post.
