If an overseas order stalls although your Korean personal customs clearance code (PCC) is valid, check the delivery postcode before renewing the code. Korea Customs Service’s notice says its enhanced check compares the PCC holder’s name, phone number and delivery postcode together. The postcode on the marketplace or forwarding-service order must match a destination registered to the PCC for a covered user. A valid code and a matching destination are different checks. If the error concerns expiry instead, follow the PCC record and renewal guide.
Find the field that actually differs
Keep the order confirmation and the carrier’s exact error. Compare the person’s name and phone on the order with the PCC owner’s own record, then compare the delivery postcode the seller or forwarder transmitted with that record’s registered destinations. A work address, a family address or a forwarding address can have a different postcode from the one you usually use. Do not change the code merely because the parcel is going to a new address.
KCS says its change began on February 2, 2026, first for people who obtained a new PCC or changed personal information or the code after November 21, 2025. It says the PCC system can register up to 20 delivery addresses. That phased announcement does not establish that every older record is already in the same verification state. Check your own current record through the official PCC service rather than deciding from the code’s age alone.
Correct the authoritative address or the order
If the checkout postcode is wrong, correct the order or ask the seller or forwarding service how it sends the delivery details to the carrier. If the destination is missing from your PCC record, use the official record-management route after completing its identity checks, then recheck what was saved. Keep the address spelling and postcode consistent across the parties. Do not enter another person’s PCC, name or phone as a shortcut.
If you cannot authenticate or the three visible fields appear to match, give the official service or carrier the exact error, order postcode and which destination record you checked. Ask which field was rejected before submitting repeated changes. A match addresses one verification condition; it does not decide customs duty, item admissibility, a carrier’s acceptance or a release date.
