Missing a Starline Sailing? Notify the Carrier Before You Lose the Return

If you cannot board a Starline sailing but still need a later leg in the same itinerary, notify Starline as soon as you know you cannot board, before the missed sailing, and ask it to record the notice. In Starline’s carriage terms, Article 5 says the carrier may cancel all or remaining reservations after a no-show without advance notice, but must maintain the remaining reservation when the passenger gave notice beforehand. That distinction concerns the later booking’s state; it does not promise a refund or a replacement sailing.

Before the boat departs

Find the booking reference, passenger name, sailing you cannot take, and every later segment you still intend to use. Contact Starline or the actual issuing channel and say explicitly that you will miss the first sailing but need the remaining reservation kept. Ask which channel can receive notice for this ticket and request an acknowledgment that identifies the booking and time received. Ask what deadline applies to recording that notice; do not treat departure time as a guaranteed last-minute cutoff. Merely sending an email is not proof that notice was received.

Starline’s published contact details list 1599-0255 and help@thestarline.co.kr. If calling is not possible from your phone, the email is an inquiry contact; ask how to have notice recorded for the booking and check for acknowledgment. The pages do not establish English support, response hours or timely acceptance of an email. Use the issuing seller’s order contact as well if it holds the booking.

Then ask for the live status of the return or onward leg, its date, route and passenger. Keep the acknowledgment together with the original ticket. A sent message, a preserved reservation, an approved change and a waived cancellation charge are four different things. Before paying for another outward journey, ask what fare conditions apply to the unused segment and whether the later booking is still valid for boarding.

If the first sailing has already been missed

Do not rely on the old itinerary display alone. Ask the carrier or issuing seller to verify whether it cancelled the remaining reservation and what choices exist for the journey you still need. If no advance notice was acknowledged, the published rule allows cancellation of the rest; it does not promise that a later request will restore it. Do not buy a duplicate return solely because a page looks unchanged or unavailable. Get the issuer’s current status and the terms for any newly offered seat before deciding.

These are Starline’s stated reservation conditions. A different ferry or a separately sold ticket can use different rules, and a special fare may add conditions. Confirm the exact booking’s treatment with its issuer rather than carrying another operator’s no-show result across to this trip.
