Before trying Uidong Family Campground’s foreigner booking window, check your reservation category and required evidence before the 9th at 14:00 Korea time. The allocation is two sites shared with visitors from Gangbuk-gu friendship cities, so it does not guarantee a place. If rain disrupts the trip, check whether the operator has actually closed the campground; rain alone does not permit a same-day cancellation or change.
Which release should you use?
The official Uidong campground page lists three monthly release groups, with times in Korea. Reservations are first come, first served:
- 8th at 14:00: seven sites for local-resident priority booking.
- 9th at 14:00: two sites shared by foreigners and visitors from Gangbuk-gu friendship cities.
- 10th at 14:00: any remaining sites for general booking.
The general release uses the same reservation system. It is another inventory group, not a workaround for identity, phone, account or payment problems in the foreigner release.
The page warns that a resident-priority booking may be cancelled at the campground if resident evidence is not produced. It does not identify the document required for the foreigner category. Before the 9th, ask the campground at 02-944-2941 or 02-944-2942 which reservation category and evidence apply to the actual visitor. Those numbers are an inquiry route, not a promise of English assistance or successful booking.
Ordinary individual bookings are internet-only. The page does not establish that every foreign phone number or card is accepted, and a call does not replace the online reservation.
Rain does not create a same-day cancellation right
Uidong says the campground normally operates in rain. A rain forecast or rainy day alone does not allow a same-day cancellation or change.
The separate exception is an operator closure caused by a natural disaster or severe condition such as a typhoon, flood or heavy snow. When the campground closes, the page says same-day cancellation and a full refund are available. Treat the operator’s closure decision as the trigger; a forecast is not proof that the site is closed.
For an ordinary cancellation, the current page lists:
- no cancellation fee seven days before use;
- a fee of 10% of the use charge from six to three days before use;
- a fee of 30% of the use charge from two days to one day before use.
Ordinary cancellation and refund are available through the day before use; same-day cancellation and refund at the campground are not permitted. Check the date and the cancellation result in the reservation record before confirming the action.
Do not travel on an unconfirmed backup
If the foreigner allocation is gone or the online booking cannot be completed, use the 10th’s remaining-inventory release only if the same portal is accessible. Otherwise, arrange accommodation that is confirmed and whose access and payment conditions work for the group. Availability at another campground is not implied by Uidong’s release schedule.
