If a Korea pop-up closes before you discover a defect or wrong item, do not return to the former venue and assume staff will be there. Preserve the original receipt, payment record, product, packaging and the event’s dated operating notice. Use the post-event seller or customer-service contact named in that notice and describe one requested outcome clearly.
The exact seller terms, event notice and applicable consumer rules take priority. There is no universal pop-up return period that this guide can promise, and a preference change is not the same as a damaged or mis-supplied product.
Build the evidence file before contacting anyone
| Evidence | What to capture | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Receipt | Seller, date, product line, amount and payment method | Connects the product to the temporary shop |
| Product | Wide view, defect close-up, seals and included parts | Shows condition without requiring the seller to guess |
| Notice | Exchange clause, contact route and event dates | Preserves terms that may disappear after closing |
| Communication | Message, date, case number and reply | Creates a chronological record of the request |
| Logistics | Your departure date and a safe return address if requested | Helps the seller propose a practical remedy |
Photograph the product before using, washing, assembling or repacking it. Keep labels, serial marks, photocards and gifts with the set. If the issue is a missing component, lay out everything received in one frame and compare it with the official contents list. Redact full card numbers, passport details and unrelated purchases before sending evidence.
Classify the problem without overstating it
- Wrong item: the product or option differs from the receipt.
- Missing component: a listed part was not included.
- Visible defect: document the condition and when it was first noticed.
- Duplicate or incorrect charge: compare the receipt, order history and settled card transaction.
- Change of mind: read the seller’s eligibility and condition rules before opening anything further.
A small manufacturing variation may be treated differently from a functional defect, and collectible packaging can have event-specific standards. State observable facts such as a missing disc, torn sealed sleeve or nonfunctioning switch. Avoid declaring fraud or counterfeit status unless you have reliable evidence.
Read the dated event rule and sales channel together
The historical SEVENTEEN V8 notice included its own merchandise, exchange and post-event inquiry instructions for the July 4-9, 2026 pop-up. The TWS concert merchandise notice separately described procedures connected to onsite booths and Weverse Shop pickup during a June 2026 event. Neither notice sets the policy for a different pop-up. They demonstrate why the receipt channel and the exact event notice must be paired.
If you ordered in an app but collected at a venue, determine which entity is shown as seller in the order record. If you paid at a physical register, retain the merchant details printed on the receipt. Do not send a store purchase to an artist’s general social account merely because the product bears the artist’s name.
Send a request that can be processed
- Use the email, inquiry form or order-help route stated by the seller.
- Put the event name, purchase date and receipt or order reference in the first lines.
- Describe the item and problem in neutral, specific language.
- Attach only the necessary redacted evidence and keep the original files.
- Ask for one remedy—exchange, missing part, correction or refund review—and request return instructions before shipping.
- Save the submission confirmation and any deadline in the reply.
If the event contact no longer works
Return to the first-party notice and identify the legal seller, platform or named operating company. Use that party’s official customer-service page and include the broken contact as evidence. If the seller does not respond or the result remains disputed, the Korea Consumer Agency’s 1372 information describes a consumer counseling route. Eligibility, language support, jurisdiction and remedy still depend on the case; citing 1372 does not guarantee a refund.
Keep tax refund and merchandise return separate
A tourist tax refund and a merchant refund solve different problems. Returning an item can affect the taxable sale and any refund document, while a tax kiosk cannot decide whether merchandise is defective. Preserve both sets of records and follow the merchant’s instructions first. The BeforeKorea tax-refund guide explains the separate tourist process. For a later purchase, begin with an official sales trail using the official merchandise guide.
What this process cannot guarantee
This workflow cannot determine legal liability, prove product authenticity, require international shipping or promise that an opened collectible qualifies for return. Card chargeback deadlines and rights also vary. If a seller requests the item back, obtain the return address, authorization, tracking requirement and responsibility for postage in writing before sending it.

Identify the sales channel before choosing an exchange route
| Decision | Proof | Next action |
|---|---|---|
| Weverse pickup order | Order history and platform seller | Use the order/help route |
| Direct event booth sale | Receipt and original payment method | Use the event’s booth/contact rule |
| Department-store sale | Store and event terms apply | Follow the named seller |
| Channel unknown | No receipt or order trail | Gather evidence before claiming |
The remedy begins with seller and sales channel, not with the physical product alone. The expired TWS notice separated Weverse pickup aftercare from direct booth sales; the expired V8 guide named its operating-period and post-close routes; and the expired BTS ARIRANG guide applied different department-store timing and post-event limits.
